About Master's Hand BBQ

Master's Hand BBQ was founded in 2010 by Steve Beers in the heart of Fort Wayne, Indiana, marking the beginning of a family-owned venture rooted in generations of grilling traditions and hard work. After closing his construction business amid economic challenges, Steve turned to a passion project inspired by his daughter, Amanda. For over 25 years, he had been perfecting a family BBQ sauce recipe in his kitchen, sharing it with friends and family at backyard gatherings. Amanda's suggestion to turn this homemade favorite into a business sparked the creation of Master's Hand BBQ, transforming a personal hobby into a beloved brand dedicated to authentic, small-batch BBQ products.

From humble beginnings, our company has grown while staying true to its core principles. Steve's upbringing on a farm instilled values of diligence, quality, and respect for natural ingredients, which are evident in every product we create. We handcraft our small-batch BBQ sauces, seasonings, and bourbon-infused pickles in our Fort Wayne facility, ensuring each batch meets the highest standards. Smoky BBQ ribs recipe using Master's Hand small-batch BBQ sauces from Fort Wayne

Smoky BBQ Ribs

Prep: 15 min | Cook: 3 hrs | Serves: 6. Tender baby back ribs rubbed with spices, smoked low and slow, then glazed with Master's Hand signature small-batch BBQ sauce for fall-off-the-bone perfection.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup Master's Hand BBQ - All Purpose Rub (or your favorite MHBBQ Rub)
  • 10 pounds baby back pork ribs
  • 1 cup Master's Hand BBQ BBQ sauce (choose your favorite heat-level for basting)
  • 1 cup apple juice (for spraying)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225F. If using a grill, set up for indirect heat.
  2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. Rub the all purpose seasoning over both sides of the ribs. Let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  3. Place ribs on the smoker racks, bone-side down. Smoke for 3 hours, spraying with apple juice every hour to keep moist.
  4. After 3 hours, wrap ribs in foil with a bit of apple juice, and cook for another 2 hours (the "Texas crutch" method).
  5. Unwrap, brush with Master's Hand BBQ sauce, and smoke uncovered for 1 more hour until sauce caramelizes and ribs are tender.
  6. Rest for 10 minutes, slice, and serve with extra sauce.
Grilled seasoned chicken recipe using Master's Hand BBQ seasonings

Grilled Seasoned Chicken

Prep: 10 min | Cook: 20 min | Serves: 4. Juicy chicken breasts rubbed with Master's Hand versatile seasoning, grilled to perfection for a simple, flavorful meal.

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons Master's Hand BBQ Trio Pepper Mild or Hot seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Lemon wedges for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 375F).
  2. Rub the seasoning paste evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts. Let marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Oil the grill grates. Place chicken on the grill and cook for 6-8 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 165F.
  4. Remove from grill, let rest for 5 minutes to retain juices.
  5. Serve with lemon wedges or alongside your favorite sides.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 medium head green cabbage (about 1 lb), finely shredded
  • 1 carrot, peeled and grated
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 Jar Master's Hand bourbon-infused pickles, finely chopped
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons pickle brine (from Master's Hand jar)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon bourbon (optional, for extra kick)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, grated carrot, sliced green onions, and chopped bourbon pickles.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, pickle brine, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, and optional bourbon until smooth.
